If you’ve been thinking of going for a scalp micropigmentation, you already know its perks and how amazing the results look. But the million dollar question isn’t how good the results will look. It’s “how will I be able to maintain my SMP after the procedure?”
It’s understandable that you’re worried. But know there’s light at the end of the tunnel and we’re here to help guide you through the process! You just need to make sure that you take care of the results for two weeks and you’re good to go. So, without further ado, let’s get started: 1.Don’t Touch the Treated Area Although it’s normal to be tempted to touch the treated area, it’s recommended that you avoid it all costs. Your scalp will be extra sensitive and slightly itchy during the healing process. Using your bare hands can lead to infections that can in turn lead to complications. Scabs are common during the healing process and will fall off by themselves within a few days. 2.Avoid Taking Showers Avoid getting the area wet because it can mess up the pigmentation. The pigments need at least a few days to settle in and adjust into the hair follicles. You will need to avoid taking a shower for at least three days. You will have to avoid swimming and saunas as well during this time. 3.Avoid The Gym Excessive sweating isn’t good after the treatment. Don’t worry. This doesn’t mean you can’t exercise or hit the gym anymore. It simply means avoiding working out for a few days; usually a 10 days. If you do sweat, use a paper towel to gently pat the area so that the towel absorbs all the moisture.
